Our parish

A parish is a place to encounter God and one another. Our church is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, Equal to the Apostles and teachers of the Slavic peoples.

In the Byzantine tradition

The parish in Poroshkovo belongs to the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Mukachevo within the Catholic Church. Its ecclesial life follows the Byzantine rite, with its liturgy, chanted prayer and veneration of icons.

Church and parish house

Two milestones mark the renewed community: the church’s consecration in 2009 and the blessing of the parish house in 2015. Together, these places express the connection between worship, learning the faith and meeting one another.
