Mission and Community Development

Our Faith Is Expressed in Love of Neighbour

Saints Cyril and Methodius Parish in Poroshkovo is a community of prayer and mutual support. We care for older people, support those facing difficult circumstances, organise activities for children and young people, and work together for the development of our community.

Through daily work, acts of kindness and mutual support, we seek to help every person feel cared for, respected and part of the community.

Our Shared Priorities

Spiritual Values

Prayer, the dignity of every person and love of neighbour are the foundation of our service.

Children's Joy and Development

We seek to create opportunities for creativity, learning, friendship and the development of children's abilities.

Youth Empowerment and Active Citizenship

We encourage young people to take initiative, act responsibly and participate in community life.

Social Inclusion and Solidarity

We aim to strengthen trust, mutual support and a sense of belonging as foundations for community well-being.

Serving Our Community

Our directions and goals for ministry. Specific programmes, their frequency and results are reported only after confirmation.

Defenders and Their Families

Support for Service Members and Ukraine’s Defenders

We aim to develop spiritual support, personal care and assistance in response to defenders’ agreed needs. This is a direction of ministry, not a report of a completed programme.

Support for Families of Fallen Defenders

We seek to stand alongside bereaved families through prayer, attentive companionship and support guided by their needs and wishes.

Welcoming Displaced People

Assistance for Internally Displaced People

This direction focuses on welcoming people forced to leave their homes, helping them connect with the community and exploring opportunities for mutual support.

Care and Companionship

Visits to Patients in Hospitals and Military Hospitals

Our aim is to develop pastoral support and visits with patients’ consent and in agreement with the institutions. Specific visits and partnerships have not yet been confirmed for publication.

Home Visits to Older People and Those Living Alone

Personal presence, companionship and attention to individual needs are an important part of our ministry. The parish has supplied individual examples of visits; no regularity or scale is claimed.

Families, Children and Community

Assistance for Families in Need

We seek to support families facing difficult circumstances. Parish materials include an individual example of food assistance; the number of families and frequency of support have not been established.

Children, Young People and Community Development

Camps, creative activities, youth gatherings and shared initiatives offer opportunities for friendship, learning and participation. Developing these activities further is our goal.

Parish Goals

The Change We Seek

We seek to strengthen trust, mutual support, initiative and responsibility; support children and young people; and encourage participation in community life. Extending this experience to neighbouring villages is a goal, rather than a claim of existing geographical reach.

Outcomes to Be Measured

An approved outcome assessment has not yet been published. We therefore do not report beneficiary totals, geographical reach or proven behavioural change. For future projects, we aim to agree objectives and indicators in advance and report results once the evidence has been reviewed.
